Student Poetry

Headlights

By: Ella Holzhei

Let’s jump in front of cars

And see if it hurts

We’ll live forever, anyways

Since the exceptional

Never die.

It’ll make for a good story

One to tell the others

I see the headlights

Now

Run quick before it passes

Two deer lost in the headlights

Of an irrevocable crash

Lying dead together,

The world seems so small

A little attention

Wasn’t worth anything at all
