Keep a and Part Apart

Many people do not understand when to have two words together or separated. Here are some examples of commonly misused words.


Apart and a Part

Apart is used to describe something that is separated. For example: I like school, apart from math class. A part is used to describe that you are participating in something. For example: I am a part of the sports team.


Try Out and Tryout

Try out is a verb used to explain that you are auditioning for something. For example: I am going to try out for that team. Tryout is a noun to describe the audition itself. For example: I am going to the tryout for that team.


Work Out and Workout

Work out is a verb used to explain that you are exercising. For example: I am going to go work out at the gym. Workout is a noun used to explain the exercise itself. For example: The workout today was very good.
