This week's featured athlete is Ellie Young!
Ellie Young is the captain of the pom team here at Valley Lutheran. Pom is one of her great passions, as she has been doing the sport for five years. She was on the Peace Lutheran Middle School team for one year, and has been on the Valley Lutheran Pom team for all four years of high school. Ellie also coaches Peace Lutheran Pom as it is a great opportunity to recruit girls for Valley’s team and impact all of the girl’s lives . Team dynamic is one of Ellie’s favorite parts of pom, they become your second family. Watching all of her teammates improve and spending time with them was something she enjoyed throughout her years of pom.” My biggest motivator is probably my competitive nature; I like to win and I always strive to be the best at what I do.” Many of her teammates, and fellow pommers look up to her work ethic and aspire to have her drive. Two of Ellie’s favorite memories from pom are playing the yarn game this year, and winning states.
